Oosterschelde National Park

Boat Trip Oosterschelde

Get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the largest National Park in the Netherlands, the Oosterschelde!

During a Boat Trip on the ship ‘Christiaan B’, you can enjoy magnificent views. With on one side views of the Storm Surge Barrier and on the other side the Zeeland Bridge and the huge Zierikzee Tower. Along the way we will tell you all about the Oosterschelde National Park and the Storm Surge Barrier.

Due to the storm season (1 October 2023 to 1 April 2024), the tour boat will not operate during this period. Should the weather permit the tour boat to sail earlier than 1 April 2024, we will announce this on our website.

Seals & Porpoises

The Oosterschelde is known for its stunning (underwater) flora & fauna. The Oosterschelde is teeming with animals. There is a wide variety of fish, birds and plants, but the most famous inhabitants of the Oosterschelde are the Seals and Porpoises. These marine mammals are showing themselves more and more frequently. During the Boat Trip, you can spot Porpoises, especially when the weather is a bit calmer. You have to look carefully because, often you’ll only see the dorsal fin popping up. Seals are a little easier to find. In low water, you can see them sunbathing on the dry sandbanks.

You can only make the boat trip on the Oosterschelde in combination with a visit to the park. No refund if a boat trip is canceled due to unforseen circumstances such as bad weather or technical problem.

Booking is not possible for the boat trip. You will be registered for an available boat trip on arrival.
