In the coming period, Rijkswaterstaat has scheduled maintenance work on several sliding cylinders and universal beams of the Storm Surge Barrier. The renovated parts of the operating mechanisms will be reinstalled in the piers of the Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier with the help of a crane on August 19, 21, 25, and 27. This may cause minor traffic disruption for your visit to Deltapark Neeltje Jans, lasting approximately 30 minutes. The work is expected to take place between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on these days. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Important
We advise against taking a detour. The blockage will last approximately 30 minutes, whereas a detour would easily take an hour or more. It is therefore much more efficient to wait.
Advice
If you are not yet in the queue of waiting vehicles, we recommend turning around or leaving the road to find a parking spot. Wait there calmly until the blockage is cleared.
The most common and suitable parking areas for waiting are:
- N57 North side (from Burgh-Haamstede): Daleboutsweg 3, Burgh-Haamstede
- N57 South side (from Middelburg): Parking lot Wingsurfspot Breezand, Vrouwenpolder
- N255 South side (from Kamperland): Parking areas along Onrustweg (parking on grass concrete tiles)
